Isle of the DEad will officially be one year old on July 3rd 2008. Any ideas on how we should celebrate this momentus occasion ?????

Well, I have to say that Dumpton Gap is actually the best place. I have had BBQ's there in the past with another group, and it is a good place to be honest. I can't think of anywhere better as its a bay.

I'm not really into fancy dress myself, so will pass on that part of it, Barbie sounds good, but it does mean someone has to spead half the night cooking and us veggies wont really want to eat stuff off the same barbie that has been used for meat.
But if all else fails ref venue maybe we could just hold it at someones house and do a bottle and plate thing like we do on girlie nights at mine.
That way we will have food and drink.

We could do a kind of picnic then...all bring our own food and eat together. We can give the fancy dress a miss I suppose Sad

I am not dressing up when others are in ordinary clothes. I just thought it might be a bit of fun.
The bay at Dumpton Gap is a great place to eat outdoors. When are we planning this by the way?

Just cos I dont want to dress up doesnt mean everyone else shouldnt, you know what a killjoy I am.
A picnic would be a good idea, but if we did a bottle and plate and made a bit buffet would be good too. Cos is cosmic law that everyone else's snacks always look better than yours.
I think that the actual anni date is a thursday or something isnt it?

I don't want to sound like a wet blanket (although I do feel like one at the moment after getting soaked from the rain all week), but would it not be a better idea to maybe hire a small hall or something similar (with budget reason) between all of us. We can still take our own food and drink and have some music if we want. That way we havn't got to worry about what the weather is going to do. The way this year is going, we had an early summer like last year, and if it follows like last year, summer will be a washout. What do you think.?
